Default self-drive car hire insurance question

Hello all!

I've had a look at the forum's topics on self-drive car hire insurance.

Can you suggest how much will it cost to insure tree cheap and small cars for self-drive car hire on pay-as-you-go basis? Just any rough idea of a typical daily rate? And what will be the rate for an annual policy?

Do I need to have any insurance for these cars for the days when they are not hired? If yes, how much will this cost roughly?

The firm is based in a London suburb.

I need just a rough estimation. I tried to approach some proper specialist brokers/insurance but they can't give a quote before I tell them the cars' registration numbers, which I don't have obviously.

Also, some mentioned a company called Compucar for this. But there's no info on car insurance on their website, or i got the wrong address: compucars.co.uk - is this right?

Thanks a lot!

If there's any broker wanting to give me a quote please email me: plot5462@gmail.com

Kindest regards,
Roman
