I think you are over simplyfying it. I lived there back then, it was not a wealthy place but a backwater. The LDDC were throwing money at firms to come and you could get space for next to nothing. The place was dead and stone dead at weekends. I would have not liked to work there.

15 years on it is a hub. I actually dont think someone like the FSA should be in the north of england and they chose almost the cheapest option. We were down at South Quay for 3 pounds a square foot.

If they have a long lease maybe they could be congratulated for their foresight

In March signed a lease for an extra 55,000sq ft at £33 per Sq Foot.

Back then they would have paid more like £8, rate free and some juicy incentives
